GCSEC PARTICIPATED TO “CYBER CHALLENGES FOR NATIONAL SECURITY”

GCSEC PARTICIPATED TO “CYBER CHALLENGES FOR NATIONAL SECURITY”
Andrea Rigoni, Director-General of GCSEC, has participated as invited expert to the “Cyber Challenges for National Security” symposium, organized by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) on November 15th and 16th.

2011 is a pivotal year for cyber security, including a new Cyber Security Strategy for the UK.
The international landscape is also evolving rapidly: the US has recently released a new International Strategy for Cyberspace, and major discussions on international governance and cooperation will be held in the UK later this year.

The UK’s cyber relationships with emerging nations such as India and China are becoming increasingly more important.

These new policies and strategies need to be put into operation to become effective, but the technology we use and the way we interact with it is changing daily. Knowing what ‘secure’ should look like is vital in planning and working towards the cyber security of the future.

The two-day conference has explored the future of cyberspace and discussed what needs to happen – and what has been donein recent months – to protect both our networks and ourselves.

You can find the programme of events here.
