GCSEC is sponsoring The Grand Conference, that will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on 16th Ocotber 2012.The Grand Conference is an outreach of the EU-US Joint Working Group on Cyber Security and Cyber Crime organized by CPNI.NL and supported by the European Commission, European Network of Information Security Agency (ENISA), US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), World Economic Forum (WEF), Alliander, TNO, European Network voor Cyber Security (ENCS), Global Cyber Security Center (GCSEC) and Deloitte.
The Grand Conference will contribute to the next World Economic Forum Summit, by providing insights and inspiration on the specific challenges and opportunities of cyber resilience of Industrial Control Systems and Smart Grids in a hyperconnected world. Leading CEO's will sign a manifest to shape that guidance. And last but not least Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission, will present her view on cyber security in Europe.
The conference intends to bring together CEO's and their direct advisors from governments, academia and industry around the world.
In critical infrastructures we cannot afford substantial interruptions due to failure of such control systems, be it by accident or intended. Services to society and profits are on the line, making cyber resilience increasingly important to both society and businesses. Due to the hyperconnected nature of cyber resilience, this is a shared responsibility.
A number of international initiatives is therefore underway to support cooperation between nations and industries. The Grand Conference is an outreach of one of these initiatives, the EU-US Joint Working Group on Cyber Security and Cyber Crime.
